David and Judie grew up in Lake County and even went to their high school prom together. They married while David was still attending John Carroll University where he earned degrees in physics and chemistry after which he took a job as Chief Chemist at Lincoln Electric Company in Cleveland.
In 1978, Judie decided that real estate was the career for her and quickly earned the reputation as Lake County's leading Realtor. The secret of her success has always been her passion and enthusiasm for the business. Her enthusiasm was certainly contagious, because in 1984, after 20 years at Lincoln Electric, David resigned to take a position as manager of the Mentor Smythe, Cramer office where Judie was building her business to higher levels year after year.
Melissa Crockett (Willis) graduated from Lake Catholic High in '82 and from John Carroll University in '86 with a degree in economics. Melissa lives in Mentor with her husband Tim, a teacher and head football coach at Madison High School, and their three daughters Brittany, Korrey, and Brooke. In 1990, Melissa left her position with a financial consulting firm and joined Judie as a marketing director. In addition to marketing, Melissa is an expert on community schools, neighborhoods and recreational programs and specializes in helping families with children make their move.
Todd Crockett graduated from Lake Catholic High in '84 and from Arizona State University in '89 with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate. Todd is a specialist in condominium sales and in the marketing of homes for sale and can help you with your real estate needs not only in the Cleveland area but also in Arizona, where he is also licensed. Todd is also a Senior Instructor for Star Power University, specializing in teaching advanced real estate sales techniques.
In 1994, the Crocketts decided to form their own mini-brokerage within Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer The idea was to create a team of 'grand masters' each focusing on his/her own particular area of expertise so that the level of service provided could be raised dramatically. David resigned as the office manager to set up the team, Todd left his position with a stock brokerage firm in Phoenix and returned to Mentor and in 1994, the Crocketts became The Crockett Team.
The Crocketts enjoy working and playing together. A family tradition is the Easter week vacation at the family's summer home in Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island. The family along with all the aunts, uncles and cousins spend the week having Easter egg hunts, beaching it and making memories. As much as the Crocketts value family, they also value their clientele. Even though The Crockett Team sells hundreds of homes each year, they know the importance of each family's needs.
